Lesotho’s Justice Molete dies
Maseru-Lesotho’s Justice Lebohang Molete has died after a short illness.
According to a family member, Advocate Mohale Thipe, Justice Molete died in the wee hours of Saturday on his way to hospital after experiencing some health complications.
“He had earlier suffered a stroke and had frequently sought medical attention lately, until this morning when he passed on.
“His sudden passing has left a void in the family and in the judiciary, and we are still trying to grasp the reality of this fallen hero and father,” said Advocate Thipe.
He is survived by his wife ‘Maboitumelo and two sons Bereng and Tlotliso.
Justice Molete’s death comes barely a year since the passing on of Justice ‘Maseshophe Hlajoane, who died in March 2019.
The 61-year-old Judge Molete was the first Mosotho judge to join the Commercial bench under the mentorship of Australian David Lyon.
Justice Molete joined the legal profession in 1982 when he started serving articles with Webber Newdigate Atrorneys where he later became partner in 1989.
In 1984, he was admitted to the legal practice as an attorney.
Since 1994, he has dealt with commercial, litigation, labour and patent cases.
